My name is Dan McKinney. My grand father was Thomas Fraser, born in the US. His parents (Allen Fraser b1852 and Elizabeth Walker b1862 are from Nova Scotia (Pictou County I believe). Allen Fraser’s parents James Fraser and Harriet Marion Hamilton are from Pictou County. I’m very interested in the history of immigration from Scotland to Nova Scotia and researching my ancestry. Would appreciate any recommendations (books, websites, etc)on the settlement of Nova Scotia and in particular Pictou County. Also we are planning a trip to Nova Scotia next summer and would appreciate any leads on individuals who can help with research before our trip and possibly during our trip.
