Hello! My husband’s family is originally from Pictou County. His Great Grandmother on his father’s side is Christie Duff. She had a son, Munroe (my husband’s grandfather) out of wedlock we think. We are trying to find his birth record from 1895 New Glasgow to find the name of his father. On his death record, it shows the name of Angus McGillvary (we think, but it has been smudged) but we can’t find anything else out about him. Could it be that he was a coal worker in the mines around that area? Where would we go to find birth records in Pictou? Any help to get us started would be appreciated!
