Clarke England
I am searching for family (CLARKE) part of the group believed to have moved from Pictou area about 1815 to 1822, to the Magdalen Islands. In this group were John MCLEAN and wife Margaret TURNBULLl (I hope there were two Margaret Turnbulls) , Alexander MCLEAN and wife Eve DICKSON, John CASSIDY and wife Margaret TURNBULL, Benjamin TURNBULL and wife Nellie ANDERSON, David DICKSON and wife Nancy CASSIDY, William DICKSON and wife Elizabeth HEWITT, James CASSIDY and wife Mary Ann IVORY
Benjamin TURNBULL and Nancy CASSIDY were brother and sister.
David DICKSON and Eve MCLEAN were brother and sister.
John CASSIDY and James CASSIDY were father and son.
It is believed that they lived in the East River area.
From James Church Register:
Marriage of John CASSIDY to Margaret TURNBULL 24, October 1793 Marriage of Benjamin TURNBULL to ANDERSON (n.n.) 17 January 1811 Baptism of Nancy CASSIDY 6 April 1794

I have just joined this group and noticed the search for Clarke and Turnbull on the Magdalen Islands. My mother-in-law was a Clarke from there and I do see references to Turnbull on an Aunt's Facebook page. Have you since received information on the Clarke's. My connection lived in Old Harry, Magdalen Islands.

Dollie, I am interested on records or proof that John CASSIDY and James CASSIDY were father and son. We are trying to dispell rumors about a John Cassidy and Elizabeth Mackie, but cant find proof. We also thought of the turnbull connection, but then are at an impass on the cassidys that were in pictou, and exactly how many, and if there were brothers, or just father and son.
As for Clarke, I will query my records to see what I can find for you.
